About Us

We provide nonprofit advocacy through legal education, workshops, test case litigation, and networking for underserviced Canadian communities.

Our History

Started by a group of legal professionals, our board of directors recognized a need for legal education in underserviced/vulnerable communities in Canada. This began with older Chinese residents who did not know their right to access certain government services available to them. We started to address this issue through in person seminars held in local libraries before the pandemic. It soon became obvious that a larger number of groups could potentially benefit from our services.

Our Vision

Our vision is dynamic and continues to evolve. However our core MISSION STATEMENT is simple and unchanging: Make the law easier to access to help people secure their rights under the law. The term “empower” is often overused, but legal rights are meant to do just that – they direct the resources of the community to help the individual! Our goal is to help people understand and realize this potential!
